A brief overview of the Lexus LX 2019

Lexus has been world-renowned for making some of the most luxurious and sophisticated cars in the world. And few cars are as luxurious, sophisticated, capable, and reliable as the LX. The Lexus LX made its first global debut back in 1995, and quickly became a top choice for celebrities and wealthy businessmen. It was also the very first full-size SUV from Lexus, and it was based on the already capable and tough Toyota Land Cruiser. Due to its roots with the Cruiser, the Lexus LX could take you almost anywhere, but in absolute comfort and style.

Presently in its third generation, the 2019 Lexus LX (commonly known as the LX 570) is one of the most sought after cars in its segment. Just like its predecessors, the LX continues to share its basic underpinnings with the Land Cruiser. The LX adds more conveniences, luxury, features, and an eye-catching design on top of it. In the UAE, the 2019 Lexus LX rivals the Range Rover, Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and Infiniti’s QX80.

Exterior

The sheer size of the Lexus LX 570 is one of the most captivating things about this vehicle. It’s absolutely enormous. Its styling compliments its size and in doing so, helps drivers nudge other cars out of their way. The massive front fascia features the brand’s Spindle grille, which, of course is really large and also, draws polarizing opinions about the whole frontal appearance. Flanking the grille are edgy yet sophisticated full-LED headlamps and angular DRL units. The grille goes into the bumper and also houses a skid plate, while the bumper gets boomerang-shaped design elements and air intakes.

The side profile reveals not only the LX’s humongous size and bulk, but also its old-school SUV styling. Interior

The interior of the 2019 Lexus LX 570 is opulent and as expected, huge. There’s no dearth of space for the first and second row passengers, while the third row is spacious enough for kids or smaller adults. The build and material quality is truly second to none. Lexus has made good use of soft-touch plastics, posh metal trim, and genuine wood to lift the ambiance further. The LX’s cabin insulation is nearly perfect, and overall comfort levels are splendid, too.

As for features, the 2019 LX 570 comes with automatic and adaptive LED headlights, acoustic windshield, radar cruise control, electric sunroof, electric tailgate, plush leather upholstery, power operated and heated & cooled front seats, paddle shifters, multi-zone automatic climate control, head-up display, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, and a 12.3-inch touch-infotainment system with navigation. Safety tech includes 10 airbags and a lot many more electronic safety nannies than I can mention here.

Engine and performance

Powering the LX 570 is a 5.7-liter V8 that develops 362 hp and 530 Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a selectable four-wheel-drive system. This 2.7-ton behemoth can hurl itself to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and on to a top whack of 220 km/h. As for the LX’s fuel efficiency... It’s an appalling 15.7 L/100 km.

Verdict

The 2019 Lexus LX 570 costs between AED 405,000 to AED 500,000, while insurance can set you back between AED 9,113 to AED 11,250.
