Dubai, UAE, 18 December, 2012: Al Nabooda Automobiles said today that its support for the Absher Initiative, launched to boost the levels of UAE Nationals working in the private sector, is part of a long-term commitment by the company to create career opportunities for Emiratis.

Announcing its own incentives for Emiratis participating in the Absher Initiative, Mr. K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles, emphasised that the company was eager to invest in major efforts to reduce unemployment among Emiratis as this was key to the nation’s future prosperity.

“As a company, we are fully committed to supporting the Government’s strategy to ensure the sustainable development of the UAE in order to reinforce its economy,” said Mr Rajaram.

“We applaud the President, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his foresight in launching the Absher Initiative to proactively boost the levels of UAE nationals in the workplace.

“Al Nabooda Automobiles fully supports Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, in his work to ensure the success of an initiative designed to empower the citizens of the UAE and provide stability in their lives.”

Mr Rajaram announced that Al Nabooda Automobiles, the sole distributor of the Audi and Volkswagen brands in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, is offering highly attractive discounts for Emiratis signing up for the Absher Initiative.

The full fleet of Volkswagen cars, the Polo, Jetta, Golf, Eos, Scirocco, Passat, Passat CC, Tiguan and Touareg, is included in offer.  UAE nationals within the Absher initiative can take advantage of discounts such as a Touareg Basic 3.6L P0 for AED150,000, marked down from the retail price AED167,900.

Across the Audi range, customers can choose cars from A, TT, Q, S and R models, including the popular Q5 3.2 S, retailing at AED217,000 but available for Absher members at AED204,500.

Mr Rajaram said: “We are a company which firmly believes that more Emiratis must be given roles in the private sector, and that their growing contribution in the work place is crucial to the nation’s future.”

“The private sector’s support for the Absher Initiative is an important part of this process, and we hope that many more Emiratis will seize the opportunities that are being created.”

Ali Al Nabooda, General Manager, Audi, Al Nabooda Automobiles, said: “The company fully endorses the Government’s view that the private sector has a responsibility to play its part in reducing unemployment levels in the UAE by providing Emiratis with career opportunities, as well as delivering training to allow them to develop their skills.”

“This is a locally-owned company with a record of business successes which can be traced back to its foundation in 1976.  It is a company which is making a major investment in the future of the UAE, and we are proud to support an initiative which can ensure the private sector offers a bright future to many more Emiratis.”

Al Nabooda Automobiles is currently forging ahead with a AED900 million investment programme to expand and enhance its operations network in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, creating world-class facilities in Dubai, Fujairah and Sharjah.

The company has a firm commitment to offer career opportunities for Emiratis, and provides ongoing support for official measures to promote employment opportunities for UAE nationals in the private sector.

“We are in constant contact with the government bodies such as Tamweer, and Emiratisation offices,” said Mr Rajaram. “We participate in career fairs and recently supported a Tamweer training programme which ended with us recruiting a number of Emiratis.

“We are currently supporting a National Institute of Vocational Education programme in which we are sponsoring eight Emiratis through higher education.  After a three-year period of studying and internships, they are likely to be employed by the company.”
