Egypt is ranked as one of the top 10 countries in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) adoption, along with Iran consisting of one of the largest fleets of CNG vehicles and CNG distribution networks in the world.

Targeting 20 per cent of the authority's vehicles to be run on CNG by 2015, the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has converted 20 of its 500 plus fleet of vehicles to run on CNG as reported by Gulf News.

Car manufacturers such as Honda, Fiat, General Motors, Peugeot, Volkswagen and Toyota are involved in promoting CNG car models. A safer alternative to gasoline as well as reduced maintenance costs, creates reduced carbon footprint compared to a petrol engine.

So, 80 per cent less nitrogen oxides, up to 70 per cent less carbon monoxide and 80 per cent less non-methane organic gases; maintains and prospers the government's goal of sustainability and a complete commitment for environmental protection with less pollution and reduction of harmful emissions.
