This Aston Martin DB5 Junior is every child’s dream come true

Back in 2021 The Little Car Company unveiled something very special - the Aston Martin DB5 Junior from No Time To Die. The DB5 Junior was basically a two-thirds scale version of the iconic DB5. And quite quickly it won the hearts of people of all ages.

The main attraction of this little car was that it had all the awesome 007 gadgets. Some of our favorite gadgets are the fake guns behind the flip down headlights, an oil dispenser, a smoke screen and a changeable number plate because Bond.

And the cool stuff doesn’t end there. In order to get the machine guns out from the headlights, you will have to access a 'secret panel'. What's more, we are told that there are also a number of "easter eggs." Also, the little DB5 had Brembo disc brakes, Bilstein dampers, coilover springs and regenerative braking on offer. And inside it had the typically 1960s wooden steering wheel. Oh, and before we forget to tell you, this gem of a machine was fully electric.

Now, Aston Martin and the Little Car Company sent the DB5 Junior to stretch its legs on the track at Bicester Heritage. Since its launch, the DB5 Junior has got three cool driving modes: Novice mode with just 1.3 bhp on offer for less experienced drivers, an Expert mode giving the car 6.7bhp and a Competition mode which, we’re told, is a “Balance of Performance” setting.

And the DB5 Junior now has a rally-style hydraulic handbrake to please the child among us. Going by its super cool features, it has received plaudits from Aston Martin’s High Performance Development Driver, Darren Turner.

“The DB5 Junior is certainly no toy. The quality and attention to detail on the car is amazing! Driving the car was epic; a real surprise actually. I wasn't expecting so much performance from the vehicle and the handling was very authentic. Despite its reduced size, it still has all the charm and characteristics of an original DB5,” Darren said.

Only 1059 DB5 Juniors will be made and car nerds will remember that this matches the number of DB5 units produced between 1963 and 1965.
