Travelling with children now easier than ever with ‘Hala Juniors’

Hala is the joint venture of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem and it is lauded as one of the best ways to book a taxi in Dubai. Now Hala has launched ‘Hala Juniors’ in collaboration with Mothercare and Champion Cleaners. 

The main aim is to make travel for parents of children up to four years old easier by installing the taxis with car seats. Currently the Hala Juniors program includes 150 taxis with child car seats by Mothercare with the plan of having more taxis with these seats also in place.

We’re told that these seats have industry-standard comfort functions, and keeping in mind the pandemic, they have been sanitised by Champion Cleaners.

The seats coming from Mothercare are certified with United Nations standard ECE R44/04, have a 5-point harness and have special cushioning for newborn children. The Hala taxi drivers, or as the company says Hala Captains, will be given adequate face to face training on how to safely install the car seat into the taxi. The Hala junior rides will cost an additional AED 5 more than the standard Hala service.
