Quick Review

The 2012 Cadillac SRX has got to be one of the prettiest compact crossovers around. Its 3.6 liter V6 engine ensures that it has plenty of oomph, whether you’re roaring down the motorway or indulging in some serious off-roading. This is a massive change from the earlier 3.0 liter engine which just didn’t quite do justice. The new version is quiet too. It might have the power of a panther, but its purr is definitely kitten sized.

The classy Cadillac SRX is pretty sleek compared to other crossovers. It certainly is much more stylish than similar cars in the same bracket. Placed next to its boxier cousin, the Land Rover, the streamlined SRX leaves it standing in terms of looks. But don’t expect this good looking specimen to enjoy hard off-roading too much. If you want something for aggressive off-roading, Land Rover has an edge, though SRX is close behind and outranks Land Rover completely in the looks department.

This beauty comes with a wide range of features and the basic model comes with all-wheel drive and Bluetooth. There are oodles of extras which are nice to have. You can choose from non-essential toys like rear-view cameras and navigation systems but they will push the cost through the optional sun roof.

The Cadillac SRX is perfect if looks, luxury and the ability to power down motorways are what you want. If you’re a serious off-roader or worry about fuel consumption, other alternatives are also worth considering.
