Quick Review

For the 2012 model the latest addition for the 300C is an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.

You sacrifice a little agility by going for the 300C over a Chrysler 300 model with a V6, rather than a V8, engine. In the affordable large car segment, the closest contender that can match the Chrysler 300C's V8 engine and rear-wheel drive is the Dodge Charger. The Charger offers plenty of power and surprisingly decent fuel efficiency for such a large, powerful car. The Dodge has a muscular, brawny exterior compared to the Chrysler 300C's more restrained, though still broad-shouldered, styling, and also offers a HEMI as an option. The Charger can't quite match the 300C's appealing interior or the large, attractive LCD displays on its electronic tech. One can also check out rival models such as BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class.

The Chrysler 300C is a car for someone who prioritizes practicality and road handling over flashy displays of luxury. It's solid and reliable, with a comfortable interior and outstanding safety ratings that make it a good choice for a family car if you don't want to sacrifice power. It's not a super-luxury car, but the interior styling is fantastic for the affordable price -- leather upholstery and walnut trim give it a premium feel.

The Chrysler 300C is a satisfying drive with plenty of swagger. The V8 engine puts forth some real power and the optional HEMI gives it some serious muscle on the road. The ride is very comfortable, with less noise than you might expect from such a large vehicle.
