Quick Review

The 2012 Lexus IS 300 is now available with three petrol engine choices, the 2.5 liter V6, the 3.0 liter V6 and a 5.0 liter V8. This is a great looking family sedan and is classed a competitor that is worthy of the BMW 3 series, the Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C Class. New for 2012 are some very minor tweaks to the interior and exterior.

The smaller of the engines comes with the entry level variation of the 2012 Lexus IS with the top level and mid level variations having the 3 liter V6 engine and 5 liter V8 engine. The 2.5 liter engine provides 205bhp with a torque that is rated at 252Nm while the 3 litre model provides 300 Nm of torque and generates 228bhp. The 5.0 liter V8 engine produces 417 horsepower and a whopping 505 Nm. The entry level model is aimed at families and city driving while the larger engines perhaps entices lovers of speed and those looking for outrageous performance.

All of the Lexus IS models come as standard with 17 inch alloy wheels and headlamps that have automatic leveling along with a spoiler on the back of the vehicle and front and corner sensors. The inside is as stunning when it comes to looks as the exterior and provides comfort over long distance rides. The seats are electric and are fully adjustable and fitted as standard is a multi-information display and audio system with 13 speakers. Those who choose the mid level or top of the range Lexus IS can also enjoy voice guided navigation which comes fitted as standard. Safety measures are excellent and come in the form of cruise control and traction control and also fitted as standard is stability control on all of the models.
