Quick Review

The Mercedes Benz C-Class has long been a favorite entry-level luxury sports sedan. With some key changes for 2012, it reaffirms this status.

For the first time, there’s a coupe model available with the same specifications as the sedan. The C-Class is now more fuel efficient, powerful, and the C350 gets a boost in horsepower. There’s also more equipment as standard, new styling, and an improved interior.

The cabin is excellent with soft touch materials throughout, comfortable seats for long drives, plenty of space and a big boot – though it wouldn’t be the best choice for a growing family. This is one car that definitely feels built to last, and has fantastic build quality throughout.

The C-Class doesn’t compromise comfort for sportiness – but still remains fun to drive. The ride quality of the C-Class makes for comfortable journeys, though the steering can be a bit fidgety on bumpy roads.

Engine wise, there are some good, well balanced choices. The engine used in the C 180 is particularly smooth, but not especially quick – though its fuel economy remains decent.

The main rivals of the Mercedes C-Class are BMW 3-Series and the Audi A4. The Mercedes holds up well, balancing luxury and performance along with some better technological features.

Overall, the C-Class is an elegant looking choice for a luxury sedan, and is ideal for anyone who values a car with a bit of prestige.
