Review: Practical, Great to drive and Upscale interior by Zia Shahid

Before buying my VW Golf R, I shortlisted Subaru Impreza STI, Mitsubishi Lancer Evoloution and Volkswagen Golf GTI.  The other cars were more expensive and did not offer as much in the price. VW had the whole deal going on where I could also avail the unlimited mileage warranty.

I use my car for everything. I use it as a family car and as my mode of transport to and from work. With a full tank in the city, I am able to get around 520KMS whereas on long trips, I am easily able to get 600KMS. It's a great car to drive! It puts a lot of other more expensive cars to shame.

I think the car looks really good. It's part of the reason I bought it. I like the interior as it feels very upscale. Quality of materials used is also better than most other more expensive cars. However there is no GPS system even in the top of the range model.

Even though it is hatchback, Golf is very practical. My childs baby seat, stroller in the boot and groceries all fit well into the car.

Overall, the Golf R, is a very practical car to own and drive even if you have a family. Even though it has 20 inch rims and low profile tires, it is still very comfortable to drive. The interior quality is exceptionally high and the Golf R boasts fantastic fuel economy even when driven rough.
