What made you pick the VW Golf GTI over the above competitors?

To be honest, it was always the GTI that I wanted. I did a test drive three years ago and I fell in love with it. This is my first car and I love it. 

Also, I don't think this car is overpriced as people might allege. I paid 120,000 AED and I get a very sporty car which has great interior technology and comfort. It's a premium car which I don't mind paying a little more for. You can't compare this car to a Honda Accord or a Nissan Altima for example, because it's a different class altogether. This car provides a much sportier engine and the ride is so much more exciting. That is what I pay for and it's worth the money. 

Your opinion on Golf GTI looks:

Fabulous looks. I love the signature red line on the grille, not to mention the LED Xenon lights. 

Your take on interior:

It has everything I need. The seats have crosshatch fabric which looks great. Bucket seats, comfortable too. Bluetooth, push button start , rear view cam, great sound system as well.

Your assessment of driving performance:

It's got a manual mode as well, it's a tiptronic transmission. For a 2.0L engine, it's fast! Turbocharged engine, very sporty and zippy. The traction is great, even if you turn the car at 100km speed it will turn perfectly without any hindrance.

Perfect for morning drives. I live in Karama and work in Sheikh Zayed road and it's a real pleasure to drive every day. It has a great pickup, cruises through the traffic clutter, also very easy to park. In terms of fuel, I get 500 km on every full tank of fuel. 

How practical is the GTI?

I'm single so for me the car works perfectly. It has space for 4 adults, trunk space is more than adequate for my needs. And ofcourse the engine sound is real music. 

What areas need improvement?

The car could use a navigation system. Other than that I think there is everything I need.
