Which cars did you shortlist before deciding to buy this car? 

1. BMW 5 Series

2. Audi A5 Sportback

3. Mercedes E-Class

What made you pick the Audi A6 over the above competitors?

When it comes to BMW 5 Series, I already had one in the house and found it to be rather boring compared to Audi. Plus the 5 Series is so common on UAE roads. I got the first ever Audi A6 that arrived in UAE, I got it in June 2011 so I was quite lucky in that sense. The Audi A5 Sportback has less legroom in the rear compared to A6. I did test drive the E-Class 320, I liked it but it was a 2 door coupe and I really wanted a 4 door. 

Your opinion on Audi A6 looks:

My favorite feature are the LED headlights. 

Your take on interior:

Apart from being extremely comfortable, my favorite feature is the automatically foldable screen. You can drive this car for hours on the highway and you won't feel tired at all. The only thing missing (which is kind of funny) is that there are no rear cup holders!

Your assessment of driving performance:

One of the first things I like about A6 is that it's NOT turbocharged so it doesn't consume a lot of oil. In city driving the power steering is really soft. On highways you don't hear wind noise at all which is awesome. 

There is however, a price to pay for being the first Audi A6 owner in Dubai. The new car came straight from Germany and the oil filter was loose so it came off! That led to a major gearbox malfunction. Fortunately the Audi service center was quite supportive and they replaced the gearbox. Their warranty covers everything, don't have to pay a dime for servicing as well. Plus they give me a replacement car too so life is good!

How practical is the Audi A6?

It's very spacious, perfect for families. The boot is so big, I once transported an exhaust system and tyres all in one, so lots of space and very comfortable.

What areas need improvement?

If it had a head up display like the BMW 5 Series, it would be perfect!
