Audi S3 Cabriolet unveiled

Since the launch of the S3, the customer's only choice of bodystyle was limited to only a hatchback not forgetting its limited market availability. Those limitations are changing as Audi brought a 3-door hatch, a 5-door hatch, a sedan and the new kid on the block - a cabriolet.

Coming to the spec sheet, it borrows the same 2.0 liter turbo engine producing 290 BHp and 280 lb-ft of torque found in the S3 family.  But, since it is a cabrio, the performance will be slightly affected due to the added weight of the folding roof mechanism and extra enforcement for overall rigidity. The overall acceleration is reduced by half a second as compared to the sedan version - the S3 cabrio takes 5.4s from 0-100 - while the top speed remains the same i.e. 250 kph.  Finally, as with all the S3s, this also has a quattro system mated to a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox.
