The Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate announced that motorcycles will be fined Dh200, three black points and impoundment for one week starting on Sunday for wrong overtaking.

According to Brigadier Hassan Ahmad Al Harthi, director of the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate, 32 motorcycles accidents has occurred this year and 936 tickets have been fined for traffic violations.

This new law will be applied across the emirate of Abu Dhabi and there will be patrol care and cameras to help arrest the violators.

Saa'ed motorcyclists are the only exception to this new law.

"A Summer without Accidents" is the title of the capital police's campaign, where they urge all motorcyclists to wear all their safety gear fearing any harm can be done. They also added that motor bike accidents cause 35 times more damage to a person than any other vehicle accidents.
